Time to revamp those t-shirts

Being a Fashion and Textiles student I always love to re-work clothing rather than throwing it away and recently I seen a image on pinterest showing a great DIY on reworking a t-shirt (if you recognise this DIY as your own from pinterest give me a message and I shall credit you). It involves an old t-shirt, a pair of scissors (fabric scissors preferably, only because they cut the fabric more easily) and ribbon.
This is the t-shirt I chose to customise because it never fits well and I never wear it because of that reason.
As I said earlier you can use normal scissors for this but it makes it allot easier if you have fabric scissors these are mine.

So with my scissors I cut the sleeves off, lowered the neckline and adjusted the hem like so.

We are nearly done, easy isn't it? so now turn over your t-shirt and grab the two back sleeves like so.

And this is when we need the ribbon I have a nice purple ribbon. You don't want the ribbon to be too thick because the straps of the top are thin so you want a thin ribbon to match. So tie your ribbon so that it joins the sleeves together and taaahhhdaaahhh your done!

The finished effect!

Now to try it on

What do you think? Do you think you would try it out?

Keep your eyes peeled in the next week as I will be doing some more DIY's

The more the merrier

Everyone loves their jewellery and anybody who knows me, knows that I always like to wear lots of bracelets. So recently I was thinking about layered jewellery and about how sometimes wearing one or two necklaces at the same time actually makes a nicer effect. So I have taken some pictures of some layered jewellery that I like from my jewellery box.

Layered bracelets from Topshop, Joe Browns, some are gifts and the rest I got from a festival.

I love this necklace! It looks like loads of necklaces but its actually just one big one. I got it from River Island years ago and always use it to make a boring top look more interesting.

The bow necklace I got from a shop in Edinburgh called Pie in the Sky which is an amazing wee independent shop. The other necklaces I got as gifts.

This necklace I got from Primark. I love the print on the fabric of this necklace and I also love the pearly beads that hang from the ties.

This is a necklace I got from Topshop and it is a three tier necklace, so each pendant hangs slightly higher than the next. With the necklace I added another pendant which is the little Umbrella which I got as a gift.

Time to get dressed up

On Wednesday me and my friends went for a well overdue night out in Dundee. Everyone was dressed up amazingly. I always feel that me and my friends all have our own individual style so I wanted to share you with you all the outfits of the evening. Is any outfit your favourite? Any of these styles similar to yours?

Seeing the sights

For those who know me I always have my camera with me wherever I go and as I was looking through my laptop today and I noticed some nice images that I had from when I spent a day in Edinburgh. Edinburgh has lovely scenery from the castle on the top of the Royal Mile to Princes Street Gardens.

Shoes, Glorious Shoes!

I am a girl who loves her shoes, I mean lets be honest who doesn't? but I especially have a taste for Irregular Choice shoes. If you have never came across these shoes before then hit the website now! These shoes are glorious! They are completely different from anything else. The only thing that puts people off buying them is what would you wear with them because they can be so patterned and extravagant. So part of this blog post is to show you what you could wear with the shoes and show you that they are an investment because they are timeless.

These are my purple cat boots here I have worn a patterned dungaree skirt and black vest top with them. I wanted to keep a simple colour scheme because the shoes are so patterned you want them to be the centre of attention. Skirt-Primark, Top- Primark, Shoes- Irregular Choice

Here I have got a patterned woolly jumper with high waisted shorts. Again I wanted the shoes to be the centre of attention so didn't put on anything that took away attention from that. Jumper- Primark, Shorts- Topshop, Shoes- Irregular Choice

These are one of my favourite pairs of Irregular Choice shoes because I love gladiator sandals and they are so colourful and different from what you would usually see. I have worn them with a cream coloured dress. Dress-Primark, Shoes-Irregular Choice

These shoes I think are just fabulous because of the extravagant flower rosette at the back. I love the flower at the back and as soon as I seen them I had to have them! I paired them with a simple white dress to keep a nice black and white contrast. Dress- Topshop, Shoes- Irregular Choice

The Irregular Choice shoe line up, they are all an investment to me!

If you have never heard or seen Irregular Choice shoes before then you should visit the website as they are amazing! http://www.irregularchoice.com/
